X-Men Movie Days of Future Past Poster
If you loved the X-Men: First Class installment, then you will love what's coming next...

Yes, plans are all set for yet another prequel to the X-Men story-line. This time, they've named it X-Men: Day of Future Past.

Rumors suggest that the story-line will be based on the character of Kitty Pride (Ellen Page) who transfers her abilities to her past self so she can save the mutants from the mutant enemies.

Further details about the plot and characters are still very sketchy, and rightly so as the directors don't want to spoil the fun for everyone. But they did inform everyone that shooting for the new movie is expected to start in January 2013 with actors like Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, Michael Fassbender, Zoe Kravitz, James McAvoy and Nicholas Holt, who will be continuing to play their respective characters from First Class.

So who's excited about the new movie? Did you enjoy the previous installments?

Facebook Photos gets a whole new improvement

New Facebook Photos Upgrade
Last year it was the Timeline upgrade that changed Facebook and its design massively and ever since the world's largest social network has been hard at it to change and re-change its look and feel.

The latest addition in the design changes includes a massive overhaul of the Photos section of the website. Now your Photos on Facebook will appear much bigger in size, almost like a mosaic of photos. The users have also been given the ability to select their favorites, which will make those photos standout from the crowd.

This change of course can be traced to the success of photo-sharing websites like Pinterest, and Facebook does not want to left behind in the craze of 'pinning' your favorite photos. It's quite clear that users now prefer a visual experience on their social networks and Facebook has quite rightly responded to that.

The changes are still in process and some users might still have the old interface. The full effect might take a few days so keep checking your photos section!

How To: Enable your PC to speak as you type!

Are you bored enough that you would want your PC to have the ability to speak?

Yes its possible, we're not joking! It's actually pretty simple. Anything you type in your PC, it will say it back to you. You can enable this option for fun, and maybe prank your friends or impress a fellow geek....

Think of it as a text-to-speech converter, and what's more: It's free!

Okay, so here's how it goes. You need to create a simple script. Open up a blank notepad file.

Copy the following code (as it is) into that blank notepad file.
Dim message, sapi
message=InputBox("What do you want me to say?","Speak to Me")
Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
sapi.Speak message
Now here's the important part. Click on File, and then 'Save as'. Look below at the filename and make sure it ends with a '.vbs' extension.

You will need to replace the '.txt' extension with a '.vbs' extension. Simple!

Make your computer speak anything

Now, just double click on the new file that's been created, and type in whatever you want your PC to say!

The Hobbit movie might be a trilogy - Peter Jackson

The Hobbit Movie Poster
The Comic-Con 2012 convention was all abuzz with the upcoming 'The Hobbit' movie and literally everyone was anxious to know the details about it.

Fans were slightly disappointed to learn that Peter Jackson intends to release the movie sometime in 2013, but there was also the news of 'The Hobbit' actually being extended to a Trilogy!

The news has now been confirmed by many credible news portals. It makes one think about how exactly Peter Jackson will 'extend' the story-line of a single book into three separate movies.

Some critics are already saying that the decision of making the movie into a trilogy could prove disastrous and Peter Jackson won't be able to keep the audience engaged. However, one should also remember Mr. Jackson's huge collection of extra notes and information about the Lord Of The Rings mythology. He'll definitely be digging up some amazing stories to tell.

Let's hope the trilogy is as good as the previous LOTR blockbuster hits!

How To: Remove the Virus which creates .exe files in your folders

How to remove new folder virus
It happened to me a number of times in college, when I used to freely share my friend's USB drives for assignments. I would plug in the USB in to my PC and carelessly click on every folder I could see.

What I wouldn't recognize was that the USB's were infected. It's a common virus, particularly when you're sharing with your friends. All you see on your USB are a lot of folders.

The common symptoms of this virus are:

  • Your task manager is not visible anymore. Ctrl + Alt + Dlt does not work.
  • The registry editor is also not available. Typing in regedit in your windows start menu doesn't do anything.
  • The folder options list don't work.
  • Overall slowing down of system.
So usually, people freak out and think that there is no cure except a total hard drive format.

But there is! All you need to do is download a virus scanner from a different computer (preferably) and run it on your system. It will delete your 'Autorun.inf' file. That will cure everything and you can go back to normal.

Here's the link for the virus scanner

So it's always extremely helpful to have a basic knowledge of some of the most simple shortcut commands and tips to make your life easier in situations when time is of the most importance.

In fear of that happening, you're always moving your cursor around so that the screensaver option doesn't activate itself. But there is a much simple way to get rid of this irking problem.

That's it! Now whenever you need to disable your screensaver, all you have to do is double click on the '/off' shortcut on your Desktop. Good Luck!

Your favorite Superheroes. Retired.

Superman Batman Comic Heroes
Fighting the bad guys and saving the world a gazillion times can be hard work, and not to mention stressful on the body. Our favorite super heroes have been doing just that and one can imagine the toll it would take even on them.

20, even 30 years from now, our favorite superheroes might want to take it down a notch and maybe even retire. Everyone deserves a peaceful ending and a nice way to retire, don't they. Why should superheroes be an exception?

So, designer Kevin Bapp has created this 'interesting' opening sequence to a proposed animated show and hopes to have it commissioned someday, if someone high up decides to of course.

Here's the video...

How to automatically start up your PC from sleep mode?

Under normal circumstances, when you put your PC on sleep mode, it usually requires manual (human) intervention) to put it back on.

But there's a way to automatically make your PC start up once it's into sleep mode. It's fantastic when you can do that. Like for instance you need to make sure your PC starts up and does a few chores (cleanup, downloads)  for you in the morning before you wake up.

Setting up your start up time

Right then, the first thing you need to do is create a scheduled task. Enter your task scheduler by typing it in as 'Task Scheduler' in your start-menu.

Now, press the drop-down menu labelled as 'Action' and click on 'Create task'. Give it a name, let's say 'PC Start-up'. Make sure you select your desired option to tell it to either run while user is logged in or not.

Now select 'Trigger' tab and click on New. Enter the details of the time you want your PC to start up. Now once that's done, head over to the 'Conditions' tab and select the option for 'Wake the computer to run this task'.

Now you need to open up the 'Actions' tab and create a new action. Specify what you want it to do. It can be 'Start up a program', 'Send an email', or 'Display a message'.

Now, once your PC goes into sleep mode, it will be ready to 'wake up' on the time you set it to and will perform the action you told it to. Easy!

Comic-Con 2012 - Be who you want to be!

Imagine a place, where your favorite superheroes, movie stars, TV actors, anime characters, villains, and not to forget. Star Wars characters come to life for a few days.

That place would be San Diego, California at the Comic-Con convention. It's where people from all over the world (mostly geeks!) gather around and meet their favorite stars, while also expressing the love for their favorite characters.

People can be whoever they want. There are no restrictions. You can be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Doctor, Darth Vader, and even Winnie the Pooh.

So understandably, the best thing about Comic-Con are the costumes. It's about a tradition that's been followed for years and about meeting people that you've never met before and talking them just because they also happen to be Doctor Who fans for example.

So talking about costumes, superheroes and villains, lets have a look at some of the best costumes from this year's Comic Con...

Malware Monday: How your computer almost got affected

malware monday, malware monday news, malware monday virus news
Time to get your smartphones ready as you might be needing them for today (Monday). Rumors are afloat that computer users all across the US (who didn't take heed of the warning) might have their internet disabled just about after midnight.

Why you ask? A malware is to blame for that. It's been hiding for almost a year now and today (Monday, July 9th, 2012) is the day it is supposed to strike.

Without getting into too much of a detail, we will just summarize as to what exactly caused these array of problems that has led to today. It began with an international hacker group starting up an online ad scam to try to take over more than 570k infected computers across the globe.

The FBI intervened, before realizing that they might have to watch those infected computers go down if they disabled the malicious malware program.

Kind of a catch 22 situation, isn't it?

But don't worry, the FBI took care of that by installing up a safety net that will take care of malware and keep your PC from getting effected.

Please let us know if this news was already in your knowledge and how serious you took it? Has any one in your friends or family network been affected? Let us know in the comments below!

Higgs Boson Discovery - What does it mean?

God Particle, Higgs Boson, CERN
On the 4th of July (2012), scientists working on the CERN project announced the discovery of a particle that was in relation to the much hypothesized (and hyped!) Higgs Boson element and how the scientific world was changed forever. But for a layman, what does that actually mean and how does it affect us in any way?
Otherwise also known as the "God Particle", it is what gives mass to other particles, including everything from protons to quarks.
The discovery of the Higgs Boson merely confirms and completes the basic standard model of particle physics. This is no way a final discovery but only paves a way for further scientific research and breakthrough.

Here's an interesting video that describes the nature of Higgs Boson and why it is so important to science?

A home like 'The Jetsons' is now reality!

This is the year 2012 and people back in the 1990's would have you believe that we would be living in smart home by now flying to our offices in our very own flying cars that could turn into hand-sized briefcases with a touch of a button.
But as you can see, that is not really happened yet and still seems like quite a distant possibility. But that doesn't mean we're not getting closer to the ultimate dream!
In New York City, a company called Savant Systems uses Apple technology products like the iPad, iPhone and iPod to completely customize your home so that you can be connected with all your electronic devices. Everything is connected, your computer, kitchen appliances, TV set and even your washing machine.
Here's a very nice video tour of the home of the future.
