Jumpshare Review : Drag, Drop and Share files with ease

Jumpshare.com is an online file sharing tool that lets you store data and share it with anyone you like. The easy interface allows users, even those with pretty much no technical know-how, to easily 'drag and drop' their files that they want to share.

The unique feature about Jumpshare is that you don't have to create an account to get started. The homepage is clean and simple to understand and all you have to do is start dragging the files for sharing.

File Sharing

Each file that you upload will stay online for a maximum of two weeks, and you can easily share the public link to anyone among your circle that you want the file to shared with.

Idea and Concept

The founders of Jumpshare in an interview mentioned that they built this tool to enable everyone to share files online and not have them stored on their own computers. The concept behind it is to basically make everyone's life easier by sharing files and folders online.

Advantages of using Jumpshare

Such a tool can have amazing benefit if used properly. For example, it can be a great productivity tool in business situations when multiple number of people want access to a single file. It can also be very helpful for young students who need to get their assignments and term projects organized.

Currently, Jumpshare.com allows new users to upload a maximum of 100 mega bytes of data at a time, but that will probably be extended as new users start coming in and the tool gets noticed online.

iPhone 5 Launch : 4 New Confirmed Features

The iPhone 5 is almost here. Today (September 12, 2012) is the day the world rests its eyes on the Apple's brand new iPhone. Many are expecting huge changes, while some are predicting minor updates. One thing is for sure, Apple has shifted it's philosophy from being a revolutionary technological company to a more evolutionary kind of an organization.

So far, we are sure of 4 new features that will be on the new iPhone 5 smartphone. Here is a quick rundown of what the fans will get:

A much larger screen

All previous iPhone devices from Apple have featured a 3.5 inch screen and it hasn't been much of a problem for users, with many enjoying it's consistent experience throughout the major iPhone versions particularly with the use of apps.

But that changed with the introduction of screens up to 4 inches like Samsung's Galaxy S III, which really put the pressure on Apple to respond. And responded they have, users will have a much larger screen with the iPhone 5, with some predicting it will at least 4 inches if not more.

LTE Network and Connectivity

4G is now a must have, with many network carriers rolling it out across their markets and are supporting LTE technology to benefit from smartphones with wireless capability. Apple had to upgrade from it's cellular radios to this if it needed to stay with the every changing environment.

LTE Connectivity is to be included in the iPhone 5 for certain.

YouTube's own iPhone app

YouTube now have their very own iPhone app, and will be taking over the one created by Apple. This story was covered here yesterday, and so we can be sure that the iPhone 5 will have the YouTube's version of the app. This of course will considerably improve the user experience while surfing for videos on YouTube.

Integration of NFC (Near Field Communication) Chips

Almost all of the latest Android phones have the facility of NFC chips and allow users to use their phones as wallets for purchasing products. Apple is naturally looking in to entering the mobile money market as well, especially when it has it's own iTunes store to benefit from.

So what do you think of these 4 features? There are surely many more that we will be seeing today at the launch. Which feature are you most looking forward to?

YouTube releases its very own iPhone App!

YouTube has launched its much anticipated iPhone app which is available for download (for free) at the iPhone app store.

iPhone devices previously had support for YouTube videos, using it's very in-built version, which was made purely by Apple and had nothing to do with YouTube. That feature was good enough just to run videos and was mostly disliked by users because of speed issues and difficulty in video streaming. That eventually led  to Apple stopping their service and opened up the possiblity for YouTube (Google) to create its own dedicated app.

And now with the introduction of YouTube's own app, these problems should be laid to rest once and for all. The new app boasts a much improved layout and a much faster response to allow users to browse and view videos.

The new app is also good news because the iPhone 5 launch is just around the corner, and will fit in perfectly with Apple's objective to give users the maximum benefit with its array of new apps and features.

What do you think? Will the introduction of YouTube's own app on the iPhone make the user experience better?  Are you looking forward to it in the new iPhone 5?

iPhone 5 Features: What we want to see!

iphone 5 features screenshot, iphone 5 pics
The internet is buzzing with the anticipation of Apple's brand new iPhone launch, and everyone's talking about what iPhone 5 features to expect. Here is a rundown of what we would like to see on September 12th!

An improved Siri!

Siri has been very useful for people who like to give orders to a smartphone. However, there are many iPhone owners who just don't use this feature enough. Apple needs to reach out to these users with a considerable new improvement. One of the 'challenges' using the iPhone's voice assistant is to get it to understand what you mean. If Apple can sort that out (with maybe a more intelligent AI software), it would help bring these users in to the fold.

A larger screen would help!

We are not talking about a mammoth sized screen, just a bit of more space. A slightly larger screen will really help and kind of get back one at Samsung as well. The iPhone still has a ton of space left, which can be used to give users a much larger and clearer view.

An improved battery life!

With new improvements, and exciting new features, the battery life of the previous iPhone series have all pretty much remained stagnant. No major improvements were made to the resilience of the battery life. What we would want is a much better performing iPhone, which could at least last a full day at peak usage.

Finally, the introduction of 4G compatibility will really put the icing on the cake. That is something everyone's been waiting for and were rightly disappointed when it did not feature in the iPhone 4S.

So what feature are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below.

iPhone 5 confirmed! - The date is September 12

It's never been this way, but Apple have confirmed the launch event date for it's brand new iPhone 5 series.

Invitations are starting to reach the most influential people in technology world, and the date is all set for 12 September, 2012. Many people still clearly remember the anti-climatic launch of the iPhone 4S this time last year. However, this time around, it definitely will be a brand new smartphone revealed to the world.

iPhone 5 screenshot, iphone 5 confirmed, iphone 5 release, iphone 5 rumors

Interestingly, there are some rumors that the upcoming phone might not be called an iPhone 5 at all. (Remember iPad HD and the 'new iPad?). But rumors aside, we most probably will see a numbered series (iPhone 5) to continue the trend of smartphones by Apple.

New Features?

So what can we all expect from the iPhone 5. For starters, it will have a smaller dock connection, a much larger length screen (not to mention thin), and the feature of no NFC (near field communication), which will help customers to buy products and pay for them at stores.

Having said all that, we must all keep in mind that this is Apple we are talking about. It's past record when it comes to launch events and keeping things under wrap have been extremely questionable and who knows what might be in store for Apple fans on September 12.

Only time will tell!

Microsoft Logo Change: A beginning of a new era?

Microsoft logo new 2012, new Microsoft logo
Unless you've been hiding in a cave, you might have seen the brand spanking new Microsoft Logo announced public yesterday. The change marks the first since 1987 that such a major change in the Logo has been seen.

Microsoft states that with the change in Logo and Corporate identity, comes a new era of innovation and creative technology that hopefully will put the software giant back to where it used to be; on the very top.

The new Microsoft Logo seems different, with a hint towards shifting their focus from PC to mobiles. The traditional 4 colors are still there, but they now appear in a flat square of 4.

The change also announces Microsoft's intention to experiment with new technologies and to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity. That is of course in junction with the release of Windows 8 platform due October 26th.

The company's general manager from branding and strategic spoke of the change...
The change in Logo brings 'one of the most significant waves of product launches in Microsoft's history,'
In total, this is Microsoft's 5th Logo change since the company was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates, some 37 years ago.

Apple officially the most valuable company in the world

Apple Company LOGO 2012
Today, Apple's stock reached a record high, valuing at a whopping $623 billion, surpassing the record set by Microsoft Corporation in the previous decade.

The rise in Apple's stock is believed to be charged by the extremely high expectations of the upcoming iPhone 5 launch and a new iPad.

The important thing here to note is that analysts actually believe that this trend is set to continue and Apple's stock will continue to grow. This might very well be possible as Apple is rumored to be working on the Apple TV technology, thereby completing it's consumer products category of offerings.

If Apple can actually continue to grow beyond this gigantic feat will be an interesting thing to see, but one thing is for sure. We are witnessing history in the making and achievements like these are very rare.

Apple is a company that has already transformed lives of billions of people with it's unique array of technologically advanced products. Steve Jobs up there in heavens must be proud!

iPhone 5 Rumors: Apple working on a larger battery unit

iphone 5 release, iphone 5 rumors, iphone 5 battery
We are still a couple of months away from the official release of the new iPhone 5, but rumors and news regarding it's specifications are all over the place. Apple fanatics want to get all the news they can get which can help them on what to expect to expect from the new release.

Various credible sources are suggesting that the iPhone 5 will definitely have a larger battery to support a much longer battery life. This will be made possible with the help of 1440mAh non-removable cell batteries.

It's important to note that this upgrade is not really that significant, in fact it's pretty much just 10mAh greater than what the battery of the iPhone 4S gave in terms of capacity. However, if Apple churns out a chipset that is more power efficient, only then can we it's real benefits.

Apple's announcement regarding the release date of the iPhone 5 is expected on 12th of September, with many putting the release sometime in October 2012.

First 3D images of Mars from Curiosity Rover!

Get your 3D glasses ready, because NASA has just released the first 3D images of the Mars landscape from it's Curiosity rover.

The mars rover has also sent out other very clear pictures this time, which show the barren landscape of the martian planet. The pictures before this had all been covered with a lot of dust on the cameras. That apparently has been fixed now.

These pictures are the first in dozen of planned uploads that NASA intends while the Mars rover continues to explore the planet surface. A total of 17 cameras will gradually be activated on the rover, thus revealing a lot more detail and various camera angles over time. However, it will take a few weeks for the robot to actually move around and explore.

People interested in more pictures will have to wait a few days. But the good news is that the robot is 'top condition' after it's landing and scientists at NASA are optimistic about its health and overall structure.

Malware Monday: How your computer almost got affected

malware monday, malware monday news, malware monday virus news
Time to get your smartphones ready as you might be needing them for today (Monday). Rumors are afloat that computer users all across the US (who didn't take heed of the warning) might have their internet disabled just about after midnight.

Why you ask? A malware is to blame for that. It's been hiding for almost a year now and today (Monday, July 9th, 2012) is the day it is supposed to strike.

Without getting into too much of a detail, we will just summarize as to what exactly caused these array of problems that has led to today. It began with an international hacker group starting up an online ad scam to try to take over more than 570k infected computers across the globe.

The FBI intervened, before realizing that they might have to watch those infected computers go down if they disabled the malicious malware program.

Kind of a catch 22 situation, isn't it?

But don't worry, the FBI took care of that by installing up a safety net that will take care of malware and keep your PC from getting effected.

Please let us know if this news was already in your knowledge and how serious you took it? Has any one in your friends or family network been affected? Let us know in the comments below!

Higgs Boson Discovery - What does it mean?

God Particle, Higgs Boson, CERN
On the 4th of July (2012), scientists working on the CERN project announced the discovery of a particle that was in relation to the much hypothesized (and hyped!) Higgs Boson element and how the scientific world was changed forever. But for a layman, what does that actually mean and how does it affect us in any way?
Otherwise also known as the "God Particle", it is what gives mass to other particles, including everything from protons to quarks.
The discovery of the Higgs Boson merely confirms and completes the basic standard model of particle physics. This is no way a final discovery but only paves a way for further scientific research and breakthrough.

Here's an interesting video that describes the nature of Higgs Boson and why it is so important to science?

A home like 'The Jetsons' is now reality!

This is the year 2012 and people back in the 1990's would have you believe that we would be living in smart home by now flying to our offices in our very own flying cars that could turn into hand-sized briefcases with a touch of a button.
But as you can see, that is not really happened yet and still seems like quite a distant possibility. But that doesn't mean we're not getting closer to the ultimate dream!
In New York City, a company called Savant Systems uses Apple technology products like the iPad, iPhone and iPod to completely customize your home so that you can be connected with all your electronic devices. Everything is connected, your computer, kitchen appliances, TV set and even your washing machine.
Here's a very nice video tour of the home of the future.

Amazon's Illuminated Kindle: Could arrive this year!

Kindle Illuminated
Rumor has it that (and from sites like TechCrunch) that Amazon is hard at work on the Kindle with some form lighting. Yes, you heard it right, a Kindle reader with an illuminated screen.

This news is backed up by the fact that Amazon recently purchased Oy Modilis, a Finnish firm with patents relating to lighting technology.

There are even people who claim to have seen the new technology in development. They point towards a tapping screen mechanism that when dragged can evenly light up the screen. The illumination is said to be soft, blue and easy on the eyes.

Expect this one to hit the shelves late this year.

Infographic: The Neurology of Gaming

The Neurology of GamingAre you a regular gamer? There are studies done by some very nice scientist folks that have confirmed the link between gaming activity to an improved brain function and quick reflexes.

And now there's more evidence. Have a look at the following (and detailed) infographic   that shows how games can affect our brain.

The study from 'Online Universities' determines all kinds of goodness that happens in our brain thanks to games like Call of Duty, The Sims, and Forza Motorsports. There's even good explanations regarding the 'slightly' violent games and how they can make people aggressive ;-)
