Is Social Media making people feel lonelier?

Forever Alone on Social Media
Currently, a large chunk of the internet is made up of the gigantic social networks including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube (Yes, it's a social network!), Google +, Pinterest and many more.

People are now spending much more time on social networks than ever before. Usually, a large portion of office hours are casually spent refreshing our feeds news page on Facebook. We like being connected and being always in touch with friends and complete strangers alike.

But surprisingly, studies on social behaviour and connectedness have made us ever more lonelier and empty hearted. Surprising? Well, you've got to trust the scientist folks.

However, that is not always true. If you're a social person in real life, the chances are you will be an active member in the virtual world as well. Contrastingly, if you're a loner in the real world, you'll probably be pretty much a 'forever alone guy' in the social media world as well.

The secret to being popular on social media networks is the same as in real life. If you have a bright personality, you share information openly, you'll be a success.

As for the pessimists and loners among us, watching other people share posts and engage in 'happy' conversations can make this worse for them. Advice for them? Just don't bother much and try to jump into the conversation if possible. It will help a lot!
